Vacationing has several physiological, emotional, and psychological benefits. It can rejuvenate you and assist you in re-communing with your old self. On top of those, going on a vacation can help reduce burnout and make you more productive at work. Creativity also flows more freely among those who allocate time for getaways. Going on a vacation need not be costly to be unforgettable. Nor is it a requirement to go to international destinations for a vacation to be considered worthwhile. The United States is home to many popular tourist destinations; take the coastal city of Galveston, for instance. The Island of Galveston receives a constant high influx of domestic and international travelers since it is port is used as a passenger terminal for cruise ships that stop over at several ports of call along Mexico and the Caribbean. Its year-round temperate climate, and picturesque cityscape lined with buildings dating back to the 19th century, and vibrant city life all add to a memorable experience.

The city is home to more than sixty buildings of historic significance which have been repurposed into antique stores, restaurants, and curio shops. One of the avenues that have these historic buildings is affectionately called by the locals as the Strand, which many consider as the city’s primary business center.

Envision yourself spending a romantic evening by the beach with your partner or spouse, or a fun-filled day frolicking near the shore with your children. If you stay in these beach houses, you will get the same high-quality service and amenities offered by hotels in the city center. Our Vacation Plans For Cape Town

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

For many years, my husband and I haven’t been outside the United States. I work for a small bank, while he works at a big and prestigious bank. Every year, we are entitled to a paid vacation leave, but for 5 years or so, we have not taken our much needed vacation.

It is a good thing that my vacation leave credits are commutable to cash. On the other hand, that of my husband is not convertible to cash and every year, for 5 years, he loses those vacation leave credits. But we swore things were going to be different this year. We carefully planned out our vacation for this holiday. It will be our biggest and most exciting trip yet. Although in reality, this is our first ever vacation since we got married. We are heading out to Cape Town in South Africa.

Cape Town, according to our research, is the second largest city in the whole of South Africa. Also according to tourist reviews, Cape Town has it all, sumptuous food, wonderful sceneries and white sand beaches. We are entitled to a 3-week vacation every year and we are going to spend those 3 weeks in Cape Town. So, I got ourselves an accommodation in Cape Town, and an early flight to cape Town.

It is going to be only 2 weeks before we leave, so I was not able to get a promo flight. But, everything will pay off once we get there. We were certain we would enjoy our vacation holiday in Cape Town. It will be nice to be away from the cold winds of New York.

Starting from December to February, it is summer in Cape Town. So it is going to be summer when we go there, so it’s a great time to go to the different beaches Cape Town boasts of. Our first stop in our Cape Town accommodation series is at a beach named False Bay. The water is warm there, just like that of spring water, so it was highly popular. My husband was a surfer in his younger days. This time, he vowed to pick up a surf board once again.

Cape Town is the African region’s most visited city. Finding Cape Town accommodation is not difficult considering there are so many to choose from. Follow this link to learn more about Accommodation in Cape Town.

My Surprise Visit To My Family In The Philippines

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

As a child, I lived in a small province in Iloilo, Philippines. My family was not well off. In fact, I had to work my way to college. Through the prodding of my cousin, I took up Nursing. When I graduated, I worked one more year to be able to save enough money for the licensure exams.

After taking it, I passed. I thought to myself that I needed to go abroad because the pay in our small town was not enough because I wanted to build my mother and siblings a house. They had no one to depend on but me. So after a couple of years of volunteer work in the hospital, I applied for a job in Dubai.

I worked in Dubai for two years. I also met my husband there, a Filipino nurse, just like me. I applied for a vacation 6 months before my 2nd year, and when it was granted, I immediately took the chance. I longed to eat my favorite foods like lechon or roasted pork and “Batchoy,” and hungered for the scent of barbecued bananas.

I was only given 3 weeks for the trip. My husband was also granted a vacation, so I had to take him along. 3 months before my vacation, I went online and booked my flight. Because of the flight promos, I was able to purchase my ticket at 30% off of the original price.

I needed to stay in a hotel because our house was so crowded now. Two of my 4 siblings already got married and their wives lived in my mother’s house. I could not squeeze my husband and myself in the same house with them. I went online again and got a booking in a good and cheap local hotel in our place.

Iloilo hotels are inexpensive and what is good about them is that you actually get more for the amount you actually paid. When I got on the plane, on the way home to the Philippines, I was so excited I was trembling. My mother was already 62 years old and I can now be with her. I can now hug her and tell her I have saved enough to start building her the house I promised.

Are you going back to the Philippines for the holidays? Book your hotels online and get discounts if you book a month before your stay.Click here for more info on hotel.
